ABOUT THE ALBUM

Orchestra of Sound's new album Flying High is the culmination of several years of recording, composing, and experimentation. Following acclaimed performances at the Vancouver and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals, Paul Snider transformed the music from his live multimedia theatre production into a dedicated album release.

Each composition began as a simple musical idea, often captured during walks, travels, or quiet moments of inspiration. These melodies were then developed using an extraordinary palette of sounds gathered across Canada and beyond—from ocean waves and wheat fields to bridges, recycled objects, and handmade instruments built from reclaimed materials.

Every sound was carefully recorded, shaped, tuned, and woven into the music, creating compositions that blur the line between environmental soundscape and orchestra. The project was then entrusted to Vancouver-based mastering engineer Kurt Von Hahn for final mastering. Kurt is an award-winning artist who brings decades of experience and a finely tuned ear to the final stage of the Orchestra of Sound album, helping prepare it for audiences worldwide.

The result is a unique instrumental album that invites listeners to hear the world differently and discover the music hidden within everyday life.
