THE CONCEPT

What if every sound around us could become music?

Orchestra of Sound is a unique musical project by composer, performer, and instrument builder Paul Snider that transforms everyday sounds into original musical compositions.

Inspired by a cross-Canada journey in an electric vehicle, Paul recorded hundreds of sounds from oceans, wheat fields, mountain streams, bridges, urban environments, and unexpected locations across the country and beyond. These recordings became the raw material for a new kind of orchestra.

Back in the studio, the sounds were carefully edited, tuned, and woven together with custom-built instruments made from recycled materials, including the Recycolin, Tincello, Wheelbarrow Bass, and Garden Hose Trumpet. The result is a collection of immersive compositions that blur the line between environmental soundscape and music.

Part sound art, part sustainability project, and part music theatre experience, Orchestra of Sound invites audiences to hear the world differently—and discover the music hidden within everyday life.
