The Sounds

Every composition begins with a sound.

At the heart of Orchestra of Sound is a collection of hundreds of recordings gathered across Canada and around the world. From ocean waves, whale calls, and mountain streams to bridges, trains, signs, and urban environments, each sound was carefully captured and transformed into music.

Back in the studio, recordings are cleaned, tuned, and shaped into musical instruments, rhythms, melodies, and textures. A bridge can become a drum, a metal sign can become a bell, and a water droplet can become a note.

Together, these sounds form an ever-growing "aural orchestra" that serves as the foundation for every composition. By transforming familiar sounds into music, Orchestra of Sound invites audiences to hear the world in an entirely new way.
